The Point Pinos Lighthouse marks the south entrance to Monterey Bay along California's Coast. The Point Pinos Lighthouse is the oldest active lighthouse on the West Coast, first becoming active in 1855, and is an example of the first 16 built on the California Coast. The original Third Order Fresnel lens is still in operation though the lighthouse was automated in 1975.
